Responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Business Unit (BU) in the areas of process design and support, marketing and customer analysis and input, development of product pipeline, intellectual property, project management and research. Define product pipeline and strategy in collaboration with marketing. Identify and communicate key product feature to the design team. Works in support of development teams to evaluate and provide support in the areas of design processes and the application of Lean Design and new product development process. Serves as product segment expert with regard to customer needs and expectations through active involvement in the VOC, CPT, and CCT processes and provides direction to design teams to ensure products meet and exceed expectations. Expertise in customer validation and clinical support. Researches and monitors product segment and industry trends, as well as provides input with regard to competitive strategies. Works as part of the BU leadership team to develop product and business unit pipeline strategies that include, but are not limited to: forecasts, landscape, resources and means. Provide a medium term product and technology vision and strategy. Monitors on behalf of the BU and works in conjunction with divisional Intellectual Property and legal resources in the mapping, development, evaluation, invention disclosure, strategy, filing/prosecution and litigation surrounding IP. Establish BU IP strategy for new product. Provides support in product development through involvement in project management, NPP(n), Design, Industrial Design, Design Input and Human Factors/Ergonomics. Involved in research of future projects, technologies and capabilities.
Minimum requirements: Masters degree in engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of experience in job offered or related marketing or product management experience. In lieu of masters degree and 3 years of experience, will also accept bachelors degree and five (5) years of experience. Experience must include BU level impact and influence on projects of mid-to-large size and moderate financial impact.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
